The rules for selling routers in the U.S. just changed.
In March 2026 the FCC restricted which routers may be sold in the United States. Most of the equipment sitting in offices today was produced overseas and now falls under that restriction. Gryphon is among the brands granted a published FCC Conditional Approval — so if you are buying network hardware this year, this is the year it matters.

The Covered List expanded
The FCC added routers produced in foreign countries to its Covered List, except those granted Conditional Approval by the Department of War or the Department of Homeland Security.
The stated reason
National security and cybersecurity
The Commission stated that foreign-produced routers present national-security and cybersecurity risks. Equipment already in service is not made unlawful to own or use.

Gryphon cleared it
The FCC published a Conditional Approval for Gryphon Safety Online, Inc.’s router.
The FCC described this determination as finding that the listed device does not pose the national-security risks underlying the Covered List designation. If you are replacing network hardware this year, buying from a brand already on the list is the difference between a decision you make once and a decision you make again.

Yes. Multiple units can be added at checkout, and Atlas Max units link together as one mesh network with one set of security rules.
Does Atlas Max separate point-of-sale systems, cameras and guest Wi-Fi?
Yes. Point-of-sale systems, cameras, staff devices and guest access are each kept on their own network, with no IT department required to manage it.
